biography
Yoan Degeorge was born in 1985 in Tolouse, France, and he spent his childhood reading Belgian comics and planting trees in his parents’house in Montlaur, in the quiet region of Lauragais.
During his studies, quite unintelligibles as much for him as for the majority of the mere mortals, he gets in touch with the world, humanly more interesting, of music and theatre.
Taking advantage of the abundant holidays offered by the French country, he starts to travel.
Discovering other places, languages and people lead him to leave his first job, primary school teacher, and to dedicate himself to nomadism.
Since 2009 he’s been collaborating as a guitarist with various musical formations and in 2012 he founds the musical duo I Fresquini, in which he’s still guitarist and singer.
In 2013 he debuts in marionette and puppet theatre, collaborating as an actor-manipulator in various Francesca Montanari’s productions.
In 2016 he founds with her the Pouët Company, continuing to dedicate himself to create and stage marionette, puppet and other fabler shows.
In 2019, he returned to teaching, working for three years with a primary school run by parents.
Today, alongside his work as a puppeteer, he co-manages Vallegaudia, an artistic residency in the hills of the Marche region, where he photographs insects, builds wooden inventions and is back to planting trees.
