The Exhibitionists
Talented Fablers for Unaware Passers-by
Arrived from far and directed who knows where,
The exhibitionists appear where you least expect.
They burst into stages, sleep in the galleries,
turn up from under the tables and occupy public streets.
They perform minimal turns with the best virtuosity.
Arlequìn
Impertinent Dancer
Born in Spain from Italian mother and Czech father,
he discovers from the start his vocation for waltz
and his talent as audience charmer.
His specialities are the dance over others’heads
and the climbing on glasses and wine bottles.
G. Ivanov G.
Violinist
Born in Italy, he boasts imaginary ancestors
camped on the Caspian see shores.
Magician, philosopher, sootsayer and healer,
during the last years he’s been devoting himself
to the study of melodies provoked by
his moustache and his cane.
O Iorgos
Rebetis
Born in the island of crete,
indirect descendant of Zeus and the cooker of a tavern, assiduous drinker and great bozouki player,
he devotes himself to pay homage to the fathers of Rebetiko
and dreams of seeing one day the Pireus harbour.
El Basurero
Bohemien
Of mysterious origins and elegant pace,
he was noticed for the first time
while collecting props from a stage.
Tango dancer, existentialist, flowers donor,
he loves poetry and theatre spotlights.
The Exhibitionists easily adapt themselves to small corners of stages or streets.
They do their best sneaking into preludes, intermissions, grand finales and cabarets.
